KIT CARSON COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE FULL TIME POSITION

Kit Carson County Ambulance Service has a full-time position open for an EMT-B or higher, based primarily in the Stratton Station but will also work out of the Burlington station as well.  Individual will also be required to take patient transfers to different hospitals on the Front Range as needed.  12 hour shifts as well as additional on-call shifts available, some nights and weekend shifts are required. Compensation is $12.38-$16.83 per hour depending on qualifications and includes insurance, vacation/sick leave, uniforms, & continued education.

OFFICE OF SHERIFF OF KIT CARSON COUNTY

After having served as Kit Carson County’s elected Sheriff for over ten years, Sheriff Tom
Ridnour will leave office on May 1, 2021. The Board of County Commissioners would like to
thank Sheriff Ridnour for his years of service to the community and wishes him all the best in his
future endeavors.
Pursuant to Article 14, Section 9, of the Constitution of the State of Colorado, the Board of
County Commissioners will be appointing Sheriff Ridnour’s successor in office and will be
accepting applications for the position through March 15, 2021. Applicants may apply by

that applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the office:
• Must be a citizen of the United States and the state of Colorado.
• Must be a resident and qualified elector of Kit Carson County on the date of appointment.

• Must be willing to submit fingerprints to a qualified law enforcement agency.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
This office has a salary set by statute of $84,846.00 for 2021 and is eligible for the Kit Carson
County benefit package which includes medical insurance and a 3% matched retirement plan.

ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE SPECIALIST I/II
The Kit Carson County Department of Human Services currently has a vacancy for an Economic Assistance Specialist I/II. If you are a community oriented individual with a passion to serve others we want to hear from you!
As an economic assistance specialist you will provide client facing support to determine eligibility for a broad range of economic and social support programs. You will work collaboratively with clients, case management staff and other community partners to facilitate an individualized plan that best meets the client’s economic needs. This work requires a strong ability to communicate, a high degree of organization and a commitment to working with other community stakeholders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Associates degree in a human services or business management field and/or 2 year of relevant work experience will be considered
  • Bi-lingual skills will be considered
  • Must have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with acceptable driving history
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Economic Assistance Specialist II must have at least one year of experience as a specialist I at the county level and demonstrated proficiency of eligibility determination and adult financial programs.

KIT CARSON COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE ON CALL EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND SUPPORT STAFF:

Kit Carson County Ambulance Service provides services as needed to eastern Kit Carson County and transports to the Denver Metro area. These positions are on call positions and considered part time. Call hours are flexible and paid per event plus paid on-call time and annual bonus available. Other compensation includes uniforms, continuing education training, and opportunity to provide an essential and valuable service to the local community.
